First WWE Store in Niagara
The world’s first World Wrestling Entertainment(R) retail/attraction, which includes a 220-foot drop-ride and more than 4,000 square feet of retail and exhibit space, was officially opened in Niagara Falls, Canada today. World Wrestling Entertainment(R) Superstars Trish Stratus, Chris Benoit and The Big Valbowski helped launch WWE Niagara Falls(TM), by cutting a symbolic Championship Belt to open the store and ride.
World Wrestling Entertainment is extremely pleased to bring our brand of
excitement to Niagara Falls, one of the world’s leading tourist destinations,”
said Carl DeMarco, President, World Wrestling Entertainment Canada, Inc. “This
one-of-a-kind attraction will draw millions of fans every year.”
The facility is located next to the Rainforest Cafe on Clifton Hill and
Falls Avenue. In addition to the retail store, the attraction includes the
220-foot high “Pile Driver(TM)”, a thrilling drop ride that shoots riders 220-
feet up in the air and drops them back in an edge-of-your-seat adventure.
As part of the official opening, World Wrestling Entertainment(R)
Superstars were among the first to ride the “Pile Driver(TM)”. They also cast
their hands in cement to become a permanent memento of the opening.
The 4,000-square foot retail store contains World Wrestling
Entertainment(R) exhibits, memorabilia, exclusive merchandise and interactive
displays. Multi-media lighting designs and effects create an atmosphere for
fans equivalent to that of stepping into a World Wrestling Entertainment(R)
arena.”
